The best week of boxing in recent memory kicked off with one of the best big fight performances of the 21st century. That's a hell of a start. At 126 there’s not only Robeisy Ramirez but Venado Lopez as well. Both with Top Rank.

I find it strange that author somehow saw Inoue the bigger man in the ring. Fulton was clearly the bigger guy. Other than that, all true. It's very rare that a consensus best fighter in a weight moves up and dominates a consensus best fighter in the higher weight like this. Makes me think of Pacquiao - but Pacquiao would overwhelm his opponents, not break them down.

Excellent article! And I also thought Inoue was the bigger man he was thicker, his legs were much stronger looking and from the opening bell I didn't think Fulton stood a chance well a small chance. With Fulton's chin being the weakest link and along with those terribly skinny legs I didnt think he would make it 12. Inoue will beat the hell out of Robeisy Ramirez.

Yes it's too bad he never fought those guys. Also a fight against Amnat Ruenroeng at Flyweight would have been very good too. And unfortunately there are no elite fighters like them until Lightweight. Although I think Inoue will really have trouble at 130 due to big size disadvantage.

If Fulton can still make 122 ok, I think the smart move would be to stay there

Chances are Inoue is going to be undisputed at 122 by the end of the year, then he will vacate and probably go to 126. That gives Fulton chance to pick up some belts again I'm some vacant fight.

I don't think Fulton is particularly an appealing fight for champs if he has no belt of his own. He's still a very tough fight for anybody not named Inoue. I don't see too many champions at 126 willingly giving Fulton a shot when he has no belt. And I don't think he's necessarily a huge draw.

Given the fact he probably won't fight again this year, could be worth just waiting it out and staying at 122 if those belts get fragmented.

Maybe Fulton v Figueroa rematch at 126 is appealing though. Other than that, i see Fulton's opportunity to fight for titles at 126 quite limited at the moment when most belt holders are with other promoters.

Maybe he should wait it out, and stay at 122, Inoue doesn't want to stay at 122 for long, win all the belts defend once in Japan for the fans.....
