Comments Thread For: Isaac Cruz: "I Think a Fight Against Ryan Garcia Would Be Entertaining"

Ryan Garcia's days of making 135 pounds are long gone. Forget about his decision to drop back down in weight to face Gervonta Davis at 136 pounds recently. From here on out, Garcia will officially campaign in the super lightweight division.

Isaac Cruz Rejects Offer For Ryan Garcia Fight Says Oscar De La Hoya
      01/06/2022 - By Rob Smith

The popular, highly ranked lightweight contender Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz has declined an offer from Golden Boy Promotions to be the next opponent for former WBC interim 135-lb champion Ryan ‘King Ry’ Garcia for his main event fight in April on DAZN.

Oscar De La Hoya, the CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, stated on social media on Thursday that Cruz’s team has turned down their offer for him to face Ryan (21-0, 18 KOs).

It’s unknown if De La Hoya has 100% given up on the negotiations with Pitbull Cruz or if he’s using social media to make him think they’ve given up so that he and his team will have second thoughts and agree to the deal that was offered.

Ryan needs this fight more than Isaac Cruz, as his popularity has taken a massive hit in 2021 when he dropped out of two battles and talked a storm about fighting Gervonta Davis and Manny Pacquiao. Those contests failed to happen as well for Ryan.

If Ryan doesn’t fight Cruz, he’ll have missed an opportunity to redeem his standing in the eyes of the boxing public.

Hmm, so Tank's offers are to low and Pitbull is exploring options. Rollie is ready to cash out and Ryan needs an easy win. Hope Rollie's dad is being smart with the $ or this will be worst than the Broner saga.

Is Cruz allowed to cross the street? If not, then what's the point of this article? Why not ask him about Frank Martin and Edwin De Los Santos who are right inside his own PBC backyard? These writers have penchant for fantasy fights.

I see. So you're a PBC fan. When is Garcia leaving GBP? After 1 year, 2 years, next week? When? Cruz disappeared for nearly a year and you want Cruz to play waiting game again. I see. Add more fuel to the fantasy fire. I see. Is this Cruz/Garcia going to be at 140? What do you think? Is Garcia going to play B side and let Ellerbe dictate the terms? So it pains you to see PBC guys fighting one another. I see.

You don't care? You said Cruz doesn't have to leave PBC and made it sound like Garcia is leaving GBP tomorrow afternoon. Any actual estimate on when Garcia is available for Pitbull Cruz? What do you think, 3 months, 6 months...?
