Comments Thread For: Japanese Business Trip Sets Stage for Robeisy Ramirez's Future Feats

He won't say it. But I will. Robeisy Ramirez is going to fight Naoya Inoue someday. And he's going to beat him. Because he's smart enough. He's tricky enough. And doggone it, fans will like him. But first things first.

It’s good to see that Ramirez has the backing of at least one boxing journalist. Thanks, Lyle. I believe Robeisy has a high threshold at this point. I have to admit I lost some faith with that ignominious debut, but Ramirez has only increased his stock since then. Multiple Olympic gold medalists are rare, and many pro fans seem to undervalue them; but when a fighter like Robeisy starts to show his value as a professional, his vaunted amateur achievements seem to only rise in value. This kid is the goods.

I’ll be impressed if you’re right…but I doubt it. Ramirez is on his way up. He’s easily in the top-ten at 126. Shimizu is 37, and maybe a top 20 fighter. Robeisy has fought all over the world; Satoshi has never fought outside Japan. If anything, it’ll be the Cuban doing the KOing.
