he looks too small, i know heights on boxrec are bs but no way he's 6'4. Da Gawd looks ginormous in comparison.
Are you off the Big Baby Anderson train?

One thing you have to remember is that he's only 23. That's the same age King Canelo was when he lost to Floyd. Point is at that age there's no telling how far he can go in the sport. We'll have a better idea in a couple years when enters his prime.Comment

His best qualities are the media is hungry to show it USA based ( where the advertising money is ) heavyweight. You could say he was born with it! Apparently he also was born with a shaky chin in boxing.I was never on it but he is still practically a kid.
I think his best qualities are his output and chin but he has some very bad tendencies he does over & over again and think he could have maybe even took an L had Martin been a little more adventurous. He needs to get back in the gym and really work on cutting a ring off and drilling out those bad habits but I think it will be difficult as he seems to lack HW sparring and always be sparring lightweights and such who have the same tendencies only the athleticism to pull it off.
If you was to ask me right now how do I see his career going I think he'll be an Eddie Chambers type. A good fighter who will do well at the sort of B tier but be found hopelessly wanting at elite level.
Look here for my non-hyped heavyweight prospects rankings. I will update them soon!
To qualify for the list of prospects, you must be under the age of 35 ( sorry Joyce you are too old) and have not fought for a WBC/IBF/WBA/WBO title. You must also be undefeated. Okay, everyone got it? I have seen each person at least once. My rankings are a mix of results to date pro potential and accomplishments. AlmostComment

What's with these heavyweights jumping straight back on defense instead of head movement and using your arms to block shots ? Long arm guys will nail you when you go straight back. Wilder does the same thing. Anderson appears to have a good chin but yeah I'm not high on him anymore. He is still young but I get the feeling these guys nowadays don't even want to improve. Anderson will get punked out sooner or later. A shame because I was pulling for the guy. I would rather watch Richard Torrez fight than Anderson. At least you know what you have in Torrez and he will give it his all.Comment

Some are too hard on him here. He got hit hard and frequent but reacted well, he did not freeze or went down, if anything he moved or countered.
At one point Anderson was jabbing effectively to regain control, good stuff.
He has time because he is 23 and now has 15 fights. The hype he had was just hype but he is not a bad fighter. If he can make some adjustments he will be fine.
On the other hand Berlanga has way too many things to fix and is not athletic enough to get them done. A big difference if you ask me.Comment

People excited about new talent doesnt mean thaty are on a hype train lol, its not uNusual to see fighters struggle as they step up in competition, its reality, he needs work and has time to work, hes most def not ready for the top but at 14 fights he shouldnt beLast edited by uppercut510; 07-05-2023, 09:58 AM.Comment

Wilder didn't fight anyone with a pulse until his 30 something fight. Fury was getting dropped by Cunningham at Anderson's age. Anderson is already better than both at the same age. Time will tell if he becomes as good or better though.Comment
