  • Comments Thread For: Red, White and Boom: Ranking The Century's Best American Fighters

It was 27 years ago last week. One of my boyhood dreams came true when I parked my car, strolled down Exchange Boulevard in one of my favorite cities - Rochester, N.Y. - picked up my media credential at the gate, and made my way to a ringside seat on an early summer Tuesday night at the War Memorial Auditorium.

I think Roy is a little high, I think his best work was done before 2000.

Rating boxers by how they're ranked by Ring is tricky because of the politics. I look at who the fighter has fought and when he fought him. It's not perfect because of all the variables involved and the bottom line is it's still just an opinion.

I pretty much agree with the list. What about Miguel cotto? At the moment he could take one or two guys on the list.

I have a feeling they didn't include Puerto Rican fighters in the list even though they should be included IMHO.. I would accept replacing Moseley with Cotto.

As ALWAYS, most Americans do not view Puerto Ricans as Americans. I wonder what colorful compelling reason could be the reason. Meanwhile,Hawaiians are Americans.

Mosley was a PED BALCO cheat, take his name off.

****** to make a list that cuts out parts of people's careers. Either way, Ward over Hopkins is laughable. Mosley, De La Hoya should be next after that.

Mosley, yes, could be taken off for Cotto but I was thinking Crawford too until his body of work (resume) gets better. Crawford is a beast but at the moment Cotto has world titles in 4 weight classes.
