  • Comments Thread For: Berlanga on Munguia: That's The Biggest Fight Right Now; I Want Him In The Big House, Madison Square Garden

NEW YORK - The shine was still bright from a bruise and swelling under his right eye as Edgar Berlanga addressed the media immediately after his latest win.

“We definitely want Munguia for next. That’s for sure-sure,” insisted Berlanga. “That’s the mother****er we want. He’s Mexican. I’m Puerto Rican. I got the man here [Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn]… the best promoter in the business. I know he’s gonna make It happen for us."

Did he make it happen for Andrade? Did he make it happen for Haney?

Edgar you have a lot of want's, Munguia next, and in the big house MSG.
You're not paying attention to you're need's, or what you have to do to get those want's.
Those needs are that you have to look impressive each, and every fight in front of the boxing fan's.
Because this fight against Quigley was boring, and you were getting tagged, and wobbled by a fighter who has campaigned at lower weights.
This really has to be you're number one priority going forward, fighting a good fight, instead of talking a good fight.
It's the only way you're going to get more people to get on the Berlanga band wagon.

Is it me, or is he taking the Boriqua fan base in NYC for granted? I don't know if he could pack the "Big House" at MSG? I'm not sure if Xander Zayas could either?

Ive been very harsh on Munguias skill level in the past but he beats Berlanga fairly easy.

If Munguia is not going to entertain the Benavides fight, then this is the next best option. Munguia needs to stop stalling his career and take on something worth watching, not that I think Either guy is something special but I would watch this fight. I think Munguia beats Berlanga as well.

this will be a really fun fight, both guys have pop, throw plenty and have flawed defence. Atmosphere should be really good too, hope it happens

Both these bums are on the same level, neither man will ever be an A-class fighter, but they can make some money fighting each other so why not.

On an unrelated note, Munguia is def the A side, like without question, this fight will marginally sell in LA.
