Comments Thread For: Hearn: "You Can't Expect Charlo To Be Competitive Against Canelo In A September Fight"

From the moment Dmitry Bivol's hand was raised in victory, he's been on the mind of Canelo Alvarez day and night. Of course initially, the two faced off in May of 2022 with Alvarez opting to move up to the light heavyweight division. That brazen jump, in the end, completely backfired. Though he pushed forward, threw combinations, and tried to play timely defense - all three judges scoring their clash gave Bivol the slightest edge.

Its hard to win at Canelo weight, but at 168, Charlo is at least as good as the expensive imports. Charlo did piddle away the shot, Canelo isn't paying like he did.

I don't think Canelo has "it" anymore, else he would have finished off Ryder. Charlo is fresh. Charlo by UD.

"Yet, even with the chance to prove that his first win was legitimate"????

Wtf is that supposed to mean? Please tell me how he needs to "prove" that his first win was "legitimate." I saw a World Champion box another World Champion's head off, and so did the rest of the world. And he did this despite the way he was treated the whole time leading up to the fight, and despite the fact that the judges tried to rob him anyway. It was about as "legitimate" as it gets.

What hell has Charlo done to deserve a Canelo fight? Heck even Andrade is more deserving, at least he has fought at 168

I agree Andrade doesn’t deserve anything but charlo deserves even less. He has not fought at 168 and has never fought at SM. If I had to pick though I would pick Andrade over Charlo for those reasons.
