The military industrial complex with all its hundreds of billions of arm sales is responsible for far more warfare and deaths over the last ??? decades than whatever Saudi Arabia has done; Saudia Arabia's complicity is but a scratch on a fetid bloated corpse in comparison - so we shouldn't conveniently choose WHICH politics gets injected into sports - it's either NO politics or ALL politics. All politics would mean the end of organised sport.

Beterbiev can just go fight in Saudi Arabia - tear up his contract with TR - and retire winner or loser and take the 15 million he'd hopefully make. Better the Saudi's money in a boxer's pocketsComment

If we started holding individual athletes to blame for the actions of their country, US citizens would be persecuted all over the world constantly. The US is by far the worlds biggest aggressor and sponsor of terrorism. Very few coups of ********ically elected governments in the last 40 years weren't executed by US funding and support. Britain has lots of blood on their hands too. These issues are nuanced.

The WBC is a joke, and Arum is a sleazy partisan of a corrupt, war mongering political party.Comment

Let the Arabs remind the boxing powers that be that money talks and bull**** walks. Mo Sulaiman's position will change real quick as soon as some sheikh greases his palms with some of that oil money.Comment

If Saudis can make this fight without WBC belt on the line, I am full in it.
This is the fight I want to see the most. Both guys can probably get a nice money in Middle east.Last edited by JakeTheBoxer; 06-14-2023, 02:31 PM.Comment

Since The boxers are not US citizens and the WBC is not a US based organization I actually didn’t even factor that into how I felt.
TBH, I think these 2 deserve a massive payday for a fight of this magnitude. If they can only get it from the Saudi’s so be it.Last edited by The Big Dunn; 06-14-2023, 02:58 PM.Comment
