Comments Thread For: Spence Eyeing Future Canelo Clash, But Only After Crawford Showdown

Canelo Alvarez did his best to stop the runaway notion that he's a shot fighter. But after being forced to go the full 12 rounds with John Ryder in his most recent showing, Alvarez's detractors have garnered even more ammunition.

Man, stop drinking and reading comments of your ****** fans.

You are a welterweight still, Canelo is a strong super middleweight willing to take on a rematch with the best light heavy.

This is 4 divisions apart. Your fight would only make sense at 160, but Canelo would be a walking zombie at that weight now.

Spence has to kill himself to make welterweight, he is bigger than clenelo. Canelo is just a blown up middleweight at best. That's why his workrate is so low and he always gasses in fights. A fight between the two is far from out of the realm of possibility. Plus it would do better numbers than anyone currently on Canelo's radar.

I don`t think Spence has a power for 160. If boxing worked that way, boxers like Spence wouldn`t be killing themselves to stay in low divisions, don`t you think?

If Spence believed what you say he would be at 160 already.

I love Bud but he'll be the underdog vs Spence..I've said for years that Spence vs Canelo would be a real super fight. Errol is a middleweight who fights at welter and would only be a slight underdog vs Alvarez. Jerry Jones loves the Texan Spence and with the Mexican population in Texas, Cowboy stadium will be packed to the brim. I'm talking back in the day with a litte racial tension type of super fight..

Canelo could make 160 even if he tried, anymore than Spence can give up the booze

160 to fight who? Boxing is a business, yhe best fights available to him were at 147, additionally the two Charlos are at 154 and 160. Also the idea has already been pitched to canelo, but he went on to sign with DAZN to fight Bivol and GGG. It eas considered tho, so it's not as implausible as you think. It was going to be a catchweight bout at 164.

The same Spence who was getting stopped in his tracks by Ugas - with his low KO ratio... Spence gets crushed by Canelo and we all know it. I suppose it's a good retirement fight for him (but he risks taking serious damage).
