Comments Thread For: Other Canelo Options Exist in Case Bivol Chooses Another Path

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - It's good to be Canelo Alvarez. Still. Not only does the cinnamon-haired Mexican star have a trophy room full of title belts and all the financial bells and whistles that come with it, he's got a certain amount of career control, too. As a four-belt champ at 168 pounds with a long-time claim to the sport's undisputed pay-per-view title, he has the unique ability to dictate nearly every detail from opponent to location to TV provider.

Really hoping bivol passes on the rematch. Nobody wants to see it and he's gonna get robbed

Saying this as a Canelo fan who would root for Canelo in a Bivol rematch: Bivol would be ****** to go another route. I am sorry but Canelo is such an easy win for Bivol. He’s so much bigger and better, and Canelo is bloated at 175. Easy money.l for Bivol.

Sorry, it sucks to say, I like Canelo as a fighter, very much. My favorite active fighter by far. But Bivol beat him easily. 8-4, an easy 8 rounds to 4. Canelo also looks worse now. Just such an easy fight, and so much money to make for Bivol. He would be a fool to turn it down. The cash cow wanting you badly, you don’t say no.

This is a garbage article. If there are excuses for Canelo fighting Bivol at 168 what the F excuses will there be to fight Charlo who hasn't fought in 2 years.

Clenelo loses to Benavidez, Andrade and Charlo. He can't deal with skilled fighters

Benavidez is a slow, plodding, come forward fighter. Plant exposed him. He doesn’t know how to cut off the ring, follows his opponent, whiffed a lot of punches, and looked frustrated in there. Won 7-5 one one card, 8-4 on another.

Benavidez was saved by Plant’s lack of power. Plant basically went 12 based on his skills, and Benavidez lack of skills. But lost due to having no power, and being outgunned.

Sorry, be real. I can be real with Canelo and what he is, what he’s not, who he can beat, who he can’t beat. I can be honest.

Benavidez surprised a lot of people with how bad he did vs Plant. Hell, even his rival, Canelo, predicted an easy KO for Benavidez. Instead we saw damn near every flaw of Benavidez on display. Same flaws he showed vs Gavril in 2017. People said those flaws were gone. They ALL still there. Lucky for him he at least outgunned Plant. His firepower saved him. He’s going to need more than that at the elite level. He looked downright silly in there in many rounds.

Based on your observation of Benavidez, he should be easy work for Canelo. Bet you Canelo don't fight him. You are too over exuberant of your support of Canelo. I'm sure he doesn't see in Benavidez what you see.

Charlo has done nothing to deserve a fight with Canelo, hasn't even been active, and struggled with Montiel, a virtual nobody, so how is he gonna beat Canelo if he can't even control his wild 7:30 wife, who is soo rachet it defies description? Canelo can rematch Bivol at 168 for all his belts that he holds hostage. His punches won't do much to hurt Beterbiev. Beterbiev is 38 or 39 but still in tip top shape with his training and lifestyle he is well preserved. He's not potato vodka Kovalev. Best bet for ginger is just let Bivol sc**** u at 168. Be a man and fight for those belts with a real champ, the man who pitched a shut out and kicked ur little freckled ass. Now ginger can also fight Benavidez or he can face that "horrible fighter", Boo Boo. Either way he turns, Canelo gets his face beat in
