Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez-John Ryder: Stats and Stakes

By Cliff Rold - On the day when the challenger's home nation crowns a monarch, the current fistic king of Mexico comes home. For the first time since a 2011 stoppage of Kermit Cintron, and in front of roughly 50,000 fans, Saul Alvarez will step into the ring in Mexico in a fight that plays at least in part as just as much a celebration as a contest. Canelo stacking his legacy by demanding only the hottest garbage mandatories. Dude will go down in history as a drug cheat who played weight games and crooked judging throughout his career. Add this to the long list of shot, underweight, old, and crooked fights on his resume.

The stats are easy. Ryder sucks and stakes are nothing. Article summed up. This is a **** fight and anyone who pays for it deserves it.

This has to be the most underhyped fight for someone who is considered the "face of boxing" in history. The gig is up for Canelo. If Ryder beats him that crowd will not let him out alive.

Hearn standing in these head to heads makes it look like something out of the 'village people' what a clown this guy is ...good luck to John , he's going to need lots of it.

And it might affect both being that canelo hasn't fought there for over a decade.

For being a mandatory this fight has gotten more hype than the average guys ala Tank(minus Ryan), bud, charlo, Fury etc.

Canelo is sitting pretty right now this a homecoming before he puts hands on bivol.

All the altitude means is that Canelo has a better chance of launching a shot that puts Ryder on the moon.
