  • Comments Thread For: Ryder on Canelo Title Shot: It's a Great Opportunity That Has Not Been Gifted

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - John Ryder will wake up this morning in Guadalajara. The 34-year-old Englishman who's been paid for punching for the last 13 years is just four days short of the biggest opportunity of his career, deep in the home territory of his imminent opponent. It's a guy you might have heard of.

Canelo (the cantaloupe, plum and cherry picker) needs to be told again after the Bivol 'beat down'....lightning can strike in a bottle....at any time.

If you have to keep convincing people you weren’t giftrd this fight because you’re Canelo’s doppelgänger, then it’s very likely this fight shouldn’t be happening, as it has no buzz in the states.

Ryder did earn it. He beat Daniel Jacobs and also Zach Parker, who Andrade could have faced on two separate occasions but always found a way to not make it happen.

I'm happy for Ryder. He deserves this opportunity... I just can't bring myself to pay for it.

Obviously you don't know anything about Ryder if you think he deserves this fight. He is in there because Canelo lobbied for him to be there. Not because he deserves anything at all. He is absolute garbage and so is this cherry fight.

The other guy is right. Anytime someone constantly complains that they deserve something they're trying to convince themselves not the public..

Please explain how Canelo begging to fight this easy fight makes Ryder a good fight.
