  • Comments Thread For: The Unassuming Ferocity Of William Zepeda

By Corey Erdman - The host hotel on the week of a boxing event always produces an eclectic mixture of humanity that you won't see anywhere else. If you're in the sport, you can identify boxing people right away. For one, they're almost always in a tracksuit and a flat-brimmed cap adorned with the name of the fighter they're affiliated with, or of course, their own name. Boxing people like to congregate in the lobby, perhaps because they want to be seen, but in a more crucial sense,

El Camaron style is somewhat reminiscent to that of a prime PacMan. Dude is non stop action, throwing punches in bunches that just overwhelm his opponents. Oscar might of found himself the next face of Mexican boxing once Canelo calls it a career. From all of his fellow countryman like Navarrete, Munguia, Cruz, Martinez there’s none that excite me more than Zepeda. Also, he’s in the deepest division in boxing to be able to become a star with guys like Haney, Martin, Davis, Shakur, Kambosos, Loma, Cruz there’s plenty of names to fight even guys like Garcia and Teo are within his weight division. Golden Boy has shown they can built PPV stars i.e. Canelo & Ryan if Oscar plays it right Davis vs Zepeda could be a true super fight.

Honestly, I think he is more similar to Errol Spence. They don't load much on their punches to throw a high output and not gas out. They have also have an underrated boxing ability and both have a questionable chin.

I think he still needs to get more seasoning however, he improved dramatically shown in his bout with Diaz and Arboleda but he did struggle a lot with Rene Alvarado, perhaps face more gatekeepers like Gesta, Fierro or Kambosos for a fight or two until he is ready to face a top 5 fighter.

Too much is being put on the Alvarado fight, people seem to forget he was fighting for his career that alone makes anyone dangerous. Anyhow, that fight made El Camaron better and most importantly it taught him not to take any opponent lightly. Hopefully, Oscar can get Kambosos next for him or even Jermaine Ortiz that would be a solid step up for his next fight.

He already has investment properties? Good for him.

More boxers need to do something like that as early in their careers as they can. So they have a way to earn income when boxing is over.
