Take away the peds and the nfl/nba would be dead too, these two were created in 1920/1940 not in the 2000s, they always had their athletes and we had ours, difference is testing is more strict in boxing than in other non combat sports.

plus boxing became world wide and they started catching up, look at the Olympics, Cuba didnt send any boxer up until 1960, the soviets didnt participate until 1952, ever since then, their medal count started dropping little by little till they no longer became relevant, and still have most medals since they had basically no competition for almost 60 years.

basketball is starting to become more popular outside of the us, so expect the same for them, although it wont have much effect on the NATIONAL basketball league.

wilder and ruiz both only get like 70k or so ppv buys when they are fighting bums. america doesnt have much interest in heavyweights they still rather watch football. then those two clowns refuse to fight each other because they each think they should get the same kind of money fighting each other when they were fighting fury and AJ well the money isnt there, that was from the british ppv buys you guys wont sell as well fighting each other so they rather not take the risk, what a joke

Yes, Wilder is a joke who thinks he controls his own boxing career but really ANSWERS to his boss Al Haymon.

Wilder to Al = Can I cross the road to get some food please?

Al = Yes you may but first sign this contract LOL.

Wilder = No problem Al I trust you.

Al = Sure you do goofy lol.

Showtime's Espinoza has had enough of this division when he passed Wilder's fights on to Fox Sports Boxing, which is now gone.

Americans blame it on the better athletes being in other sports...

Like other countries don't have other sports or like the NFL didn't exist in the past.

Really all that happened is Americans dominated pretty much when Soviet fighters weren't in pro boxing. Well Lewis wasn't American but he dominated a bit before the first real wave of ex Soviets entered pro bro boxing, and they dominated after that for a while, until Fury come along and since it's been dominated by Brit's and Eastern europeans

Just like the cruiserweight division has been pretty much dominated by Eastern euros

            Light heavyweight even more so.

The truth is the higher weight classes only made Americans look good because there was less competition

Once the ex soviet countries entered boxing and we got the first few generations of boxers after that, it become apparent American fighters weren't all that. The Eastern euros would've dominated the 80s and 90s too probably, if they were able to fight as professionals.

Slavs, Cossacks etc are simply tougher people than Americans. Especially in the heavier weight classes where real men fight, not so much small weight classes where they are all the size of teenage girls.

The HW division is dead worldwide. Tyson Fury is fighting an MMA guy in a non-predictable match up, Usyk is getting stopped by bodyshots fighting mandatories, Wilder aint fighting no one, Lossua is going life and death with robert helenius who came in on a week's notice, Ruiz aint fighting anyone hes just greedy.

Atleast Joyce and Zhang are getting it on.

Any more suggestions on how it can be revived?

Nah, there is that one new guy who Roy Jones is coaching.

He seems like an AJ type but slightly more technical and athletically gifted.

Now that the Wilder vs Joshua is teetering on the brink of not getting made, is there any chance that Wilder vs Ruiz gets resurrected?
