Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Doubts Confidence Of Tank's Team; Ellerbe Blasts Ryan Garcia's Promoter

By Keith Idec - Oscar De La Hoya had his antagonistic comments written down on a sheet of paper Thursday. The Hall-of-Fame fighter criticized Gervonta Davis' team for being overprotective of the undefeated knockout artist. De La Hoya thinks Davis' handlers lack confidence in him, which is why "The Golden Boy" believes they insisted on a catch weight of 136 pounds for his 12-round fight against Ryan Garcia on Saturday night, a weigh-in two hours later than usual Friday afternoon and a rehydration restriction for a second-day weigh-in late Saturday morning.

We? this dude was wiping Floyd’s sweat one minute and then got plugged in as Al’s Floyd handler and somehow ends up ceo of what consistently remained a one fighter promotional company. We? Is he Al’s boyfriend tf is Ellerbe suddenly talking shhh for about we. You managed the rest of the boxers under Floyd the way your barber ripped you off for your years on that sharpie look.

Doesnt Davis have the same weigh-in, same rehydration clause, and who said it was Davis, saw an interview with Calvin and he had no clue when he was told its at 11, he was told during the interview.

Thing is, all the fighters PBC took from GB have either been Ko'd, lost or retired under their management.

It's the little things that the fans are never aware of. They only look at the matchup. They never pay attention to all of the stipulations. Garcia bent over backwards to make this fight happen. At the end of the day, as a fan, you still hope for a fair and competitive fight.

              Lol.

Al Haymon and Richard Schaefer stole Oscar’s fighters. Not Ellerbe. TMT Promotions hardly even has any fighters these days, if it wasn’t for Tank you wouldn’t see or hear a damn thing about Ellerbe. He’s largely irrelevant in boxing now.

That’s why he’s so thirsty for the media attention he has gotten during the lead up to this fight.

Having a late weigh-in is some bullsh*t. They really did everything possible to screw Ryan over and make him come in weak.

As a fan I’m appreciative that Ryan accepted all of it just to get the fight made.

I’m so sick of this ‘’ A side “ crap. This is what is wrong with boxing and why we are not seeing mega fights. It’s gotten so bad that ‘’A side fury “ demanded 70/30 split to fight the middleweight with 3 belts. Mayweather started all this A side crap and now boxing ( fighters) have become businessmen and not fighters. It makes me appreciate Duran, Leonard, hagler, Holmes, Holyfield and a whole bunch of other fighters from the 80s through early 2000’s much more. On a different note Floyd wanted to go to 154 to get Oscar belt, Oscar didn’t make him go to 154. Bottom line is no matter what happens Saturday night Garcia demanded this fight and agreed to all these ****** clauses to make the fight happen. Let’s not forget tank fought barrios at 140 but won’t fight Garcia at 140 ? Tanks has missed weight before at 135 and ellerbe is calling delahoya a hypocrite??? LMFAO.
