Comments Thread For: Keyshawn Davis: Ideally, I Would Like To Fight For A World Title In My Next Fight

Keyshawn Davis doesn't think he is far from fighting for a lightweight world title. The driven Davis will fight for just the eighth time as a professional Saturday night, when he'll match up against Anthony Yigit in the first 10-rounder of Davis' two-year pro career at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The highly regarded Davis nevertheless believes he is ready for a championship challenge.

Slow down brother, you're getting way ahead of your self. You have begun your career at an accelerated pace by facing more experienced fighter's, but you still need more experience yourself. In a year or two with 6 more fight's under your belt, you'll be better prepared not only to fight for a title, but to win one.

Keyshawn is a skilled, aggressive, boxer-puncher that is building to do great things, He might need to think about stopping all the talking before he's faced any legitimate competition.

Keyshawn like one of my favorite fighters of all time out of Norfolk the late great Pernell Whitaker is a natural but very aggressive and at times reckless but talented he is. There are those who are capable of fighting and dominating seasoned veterans but they must be special. I believe he has the instincts and fortitude but the discipline is major at this level in the best division in boxing with the stiffest competition. We will see!

Agreed! A boxer that's just starting out his professional career, should never think so highly of himself. That he disregard's the level of competition that he must get through before he face's the champion of his particular division.
