Comments Thread For: Joshua Pleased With Robert Garcia In Prior Camp: 'We Didn't Get The Decision But We Gelled Well'

It was all but a no-brainer for Anthony Joshua once he witnessed firsthand what his newest trainer had to offer to his career. Unfortunately, he was never closer than 200 miles away from making that discovery when he was first on the hunt for a new cornerman.

AJ isnt an elite level fighter regardless of how many trainers he goes through. He's good but that's it. Anybody top class in the division beats him. Beating a fighter at Franklin's level outside of top 30 probably shows this.

Derrick James is an excellent trainer, and he knows what NOT to say and do when it comes to his fighters. He demands their best effort, but treats them like men. I think that Joshua has really helped himself by adding Derrick as his trainer, and I'm curious to see the progress.

Joshua changing trainers like he's changing gloves. From Grant to Rival to Everlast, From McCracken to Fernandez/Garcia to James.

Obviously couldn’t have gelled that well since he won’t be the returning cornerman

why would you want a trainer that's very low IQ?

Robert Garcia is OBVIOUSLY very low IQ. just watch his interviews. I have never heard of a single insightful thing he says. He legit thought Bivol was a stumble bum. I mean LMFAO. even if you're going to pick Canelo how can you not see the talent in Bivol? Dude is mentally ******ed. Emmanuel Steward for example was the perfect trainer. High IQ af.

You obviously never saw Robert fight if you are calling him low IQ he had great technique and did something Emmanuel Steward never did become a world champion. It's funny seeing civilians talk trash about trainers who have multiple world champions they made, not inherited. OBVIOUSLY he did something right, maybe if you toned down your post count and applied yourself in life you might do the same.

I'm not saying Steward wasn't a great trainer either he obviously was but Garcia is a better trainer than McCracken that's for sure, and he has more champions than Derrick James, who also never became a world champion.

Says a merchant himself lmao, some bum ass who knows nothing about boxing. Boxing IQ and regular IQ are completely different you lack both so you wouldn't be able to tell the difference but at least you have an extra chromosome if that counts.
