Lineal and undisputed aren't always the same thing but when they align one thing is certain in the weight class where they do: there is only one world champion for everyone to chase. At super middleweight, that lineal and undisputed champion is Saul Alvarez.

Canelo can try to avenge his loss to Bivol, if he loses then he still has the Benavidez option back at 168. It’s the smart way to go about it for his career.

Im not so sure. After this past weekend, I think Canelo has a better chance of beating David than Bivol. If he gets thoroughly outclassed and embarrassed by Bivol again, the David vs Canelo showdown loses a lot of its luster imo.

We all know his chances against Bivol aren't in his favor and he more than likely gets ragdolled by Beterbiev. I say he swallows his pride, concedes 175 was a bridge too far and settle in at 168 taking on the likes of David,Jermall,Andrade and eventually maybe Morrell.

Yep. Canelo wants Bivol His choice, his fight. It is a roll of the dice. A tough fight. Win or lose.

Benavidez an easier task. Plant gassed-out. But was a challenging go for first half of the contest. Significant that Benavidez couldn't KO Plant, considering his supposed power and superior skills.
