Bro, Golovkin was the same boxer at 33 and 35

He has a very soft career
Morales with 25 years fought 3 times better competition and rival

Big fights against great rivals, wars, are what ends a boxer career, the damage

Golovkin was a new car before the fight vs Canelo and canelo prime was in 168

    Stop with the excuses

When You face a great rival your training camp is harder

canelo has 33 and like 4 surgeries and injuries

    why?

    Because his harder career

Golovkin had a soft career with a bunch of easy fights against poor opposition

Only in the second fight with canelo he was in a war and took a Lot of damage

I am not talking about 1 fight.. I was saying that if G was still undefeated and never fought canelo, he could make the same amount fighting other fighters a few times. G already made an average of $5mil - 10mil per fight before fighting canelo.

he fought too many mismatches for my liking, and the few times he fought top competition he barely won. He chased the Canelo money, which you can't fault, but he was never the monster that would've dominated the division, that he was hyped up to be.

I agree. He should have fought better fights after the Canelo rematch but didn't and begged for a third fight

Golovkin Lost the secodnt fight against Canelo fair and square

A shot Lara would be his third best rival in his whole career

              Stop being a fanboy
I like GGG, but I wouldn't call myself a big fan. He's a flawed fighter. But he beat Canelo twice. Outside of Canelo's two gifts and a win over a 40 year old Golovkin, who are his best rivalry wins? He refuses to fight other Mexican fighters. He got a gift versus Lara and Trout too. Knocked out glass chinned Khan who was also knocked out by Brook...who Golovkin nearly blinded.

You’re missing the point. If ggg would have went that route, he would have never broke even. Not even close. The quality of opposition isn’t there.

like i said, he was already making $5-10mil per fight BEFORE canelo... if he never fought canelo, he would still be undefeated and would still be view as the beast he once was... cater in the fact that people will still want to see him fight canelo so whoever G fights, fans will tune in, in hopes that GGG vs canelo will be next!!

he could ride off of that alone, the fact that fans would want to see G fight canelo next, they will tune in to see his fights. you are acting like he made over $100mil fighting canelo... he didnt make that much fighting canelo vs what he was already getting before. G already seen millions before fighting canelo. he should have just stayed in his own lane.

But lately some things really bothered me.

It started with him dropping his belt, and to me it seemed like he ducked Lara. That could have been a great fight with two past-prime greats who are still very good. GGG being a force who corners opponents and then pounds on them, and Lara being the playful boxer, it would have been an exciting matchup.

And I've also recently saw something that GGG twitted after the 3rd Canelo fight that really bothered me. He posted "Friendship has won" (see tweet below).

So that and the fact that he gave up his belt to not fight Lara left a bad taste, and makes me feel like much of the Canelo drama was just an act, and that he just cashed out.

I get it, money is money and if you can make plenty and leave this brutal sport with your health more or less intact, that's excellent business. But it just doesn't seem like something a true great sportsman boxer warrior would do.

Maybe GGG will have some sort of redeeming fight before retiring. But for now it seems to me that GGG has sold out. That's my opinion and that's where I stand.

Hes OLD needs to retire. Hes given enough to the sport.
