  • Comments Thread For: Breadman Breaks Down Plant-Benavidez To Its Simplest Form: "This Fight Is About Character"

David Benavidez has relentlessly raged in the direction of Caleb Plant for nearly half a decade. With the current WBC super middleweight interim champion claiming that he'll brutalize his rival without breaking a sweat, he'll officially get his opportunity to back his brazen words.

You people are placing way too much weight on Plants KO of washed up Dirrell. His last decent win was vs Sakio Bika yearsssssssss ago. Plant can’t punch and he’s gonna have to move all night long if he wants to hear the final bell.

Each opponent knows what's coming with Benavidez. It's just a matter of how do you counter that pressure, whether outbox him on the back foot or try to back Benavidez up.

This will either be a huge signature win for Plant, or the win that propels Benavidez to Canelo, or perhaps to light heavyweight.

Exactly. We have to stop talking about Plant’s power like it’s a factor here. His knockout of Dirrell took him landing an almost perfect punch and that doesn’t happen very often in boxing. Add to that Anthony’s age and where he was in his career making it less impressive. I am not saying Caleb can’t win this fight, but if he pulls off the upset it won’t be due to some new found power.

Caleb has been tested though. Although failed that Canelo test it’s more than I can say for Benavidez who has never really been tested at all. I think this is a good fight and neither guy should be overlooked but I do expect Benavidez to win.

Reading between the lines bread doesn't seem to confident in his man. He should be talking about the skill disparity and experience gained from fighting canelo. Working on what worked for plant in that fight and strengthening any weak areas that were highlighted. All this talk of heart is concerning.

Benavidez will win if he doesn't get careless and come in with hands down when he gets Caleb hurt. That's when he could get countered and the fight could change.

"Edwards is focusing on that red beating organ on the inside of Plant’s chest.".... who writes this s--t? Good Lord its f--king terrible.....

Just As useless as those "Daily Bread bag" articles or whatever the f--k it is they're called.

Trainer is right though- Caleb "I sold my a$$ to Clenelo" Plant will have to dig deep in this fight.

Yeah I was a bit shocked at people's reaction to the KO win. It was a great finish but I think it was more a surprise that Plant could do that.
