Comments Thread For: Canelo Warns Gervonta Davis On Upcoming Ryan Garcia Clash: "He Needs To Be Very Careful With Ryan"

To even the staunchest of Ryan Garcia's supporters, his bold threats aimed in the direction of Gervonta Davis appeared ludicrous. However, following years of thunderously claiming that he'll do a number on the hard-hitting star, the 24-year-old Garcia will be given the opportunity to prove himself.

Canelo went full turncoat on Ryan Garcia in a very similar fashion to as he did with Oscar.. threatened by other Latinos star power.. absolutely pathetic behavior

Tank vs a basic fighter. Its a no brainer. Garcia fans keep hyping this.

Anyone who thinks Ryan's chances of pulling off this "upset" is miniscule, dksab.

Sounds like Canelos animosity against Ryan is no longer clouding his judgment and has come around to admit Ryans ability. His early stance was that Tank was too much for Ryan. It's going to get pretty ugly for Tank in there by round 5 or 6 and it ain't going to stop, complete dismantling by Ryan's speed, power and his underrated boxing ability. When you beat Haney and Vergil in the amateurs, your ass can box.

By all accounts they split 6 matches and Ryan was more dominant in his wins landing the bigger shots.

Ryan wins the fight by keeping distance, using angles while jabbing, if Ryan gets greedy for a KO, Tank will catch him. Ryan’s length, size & speed will dominate as long as he doesn’t stay in the pocket too long….

You’re desperately reaching on multiple levels. Canelo only admitted Tank needs to be cautious as any fighter should but said nothing that they medicated he’s changed his original pick of Tank winning. And not sure how long you’ve been following boxing but 3 round amateur fights have very little translation to professional success, especially in comparison to 12 round fights.

Who's reaching? Seemed to me since he said "if GARCIA puts in the work behind the scenes,he"ll be just fine" the following adulation/praise was directed towards Ryan....was it not?

And I've been following long enough to know what my eyes tell me. And,3 rounds or not,the footage ive seen of his fight with Vergil and his wins/loses against Haney, Tiger and Shakur tell me the kid can box. His footspeed and movement was more utilized back them as well but with his power, speed and reflexes he's adopted a more stationary stance.

Ryan can box and box well, period.

I mean Ryan's speed, reach and power can be problems. He has his flaws though and I think that will be his downfall. Mainly how he leaves his chin out there when he throws punches.
