Well, the alternative to all those ridiculous stipulations is no fight. ODLH and Garcia must be confident.Leave a comment:

We all appreciate the exuberance Oscar, but its wasted on these two. They just don't want to fight. The Klitschko brothers will face off in a bareknuckle cage match before Spence and Crawford ever square up.Leave a comment:

Oh yes, just look what he did for Cryan. There is a rematch clause, a catchweight, a rehydration clause and surely the purse split favors the other fighter. Oh and on a biased network who is invested in the other guy.Leave a comment:

That money dried up at PBC.. Uncle Al doesn’t want to go into his personal reservoirs to make fights with his own overpaid fighters.. he needs the opps to get his guys paid now.Leave a comment:

Crawford can't do anything on his own. Always needing help, like a jobless manLeave a comment:

I think at this point, Crawford will wait until the Davis VS Garcia aftermath to see what kind of results De La Hoya's promotions can deliver - at least waiting would be wise.Leave a comment:

How quickly things change! Not too long ago, Oscar was saying "Al Haymon is blocking all the fights!" Now he has Davis vs. Garcia on SHO, Stanionis vs. Ortiz Jr. on DAZN, and he's confident he can make Spence vs. Crawford! Amazing!Leave a comment:

Yeah I agree with you mostly. I certainly don't think that a lot of these fighters are scared of one another, and most 'ducking', er I mean 'strategic matchmaking has more to do with their management and the state of the sport in this capitalist system. But, because of that us fans suffer. Or, I guess more specifically, us 'hardcore' fans suffer. Casual fans clearly don't care about the 'product', as evident by how popular YouTube fighters are, as well as having NON-PPV worthy fights on PPV. And when it comes to Spence and Crawford specifically, they seem greedy. Obviously it's easy for me to say, since I am not the one who is risking life and limb, nor is it my money to conveniently brush off, I still feel like they can both get paid handsomely AND fight sometime in this millennium. So, very long story short, I agree with the sentiment of 'not hating the player, and hating the game', I still feel that if they really want the fight for their legacies, they could renegotiate and come to some sort of compromise, but maybe they don't care about their legacies as much as I wish they would.
I feel like that's because of the fault of OVER paying fighters these days. Why would they risk a loss and status of future mega checks against a great fighter than continue to milk against lower tier opposition for the same money?
I'm not saying giving boxers UFC pay, but 2-3 million dollar paychecks for non-PPV fight is absurd. Even PPV fights against bum opponents, they don't deserve that amount. They really need to restructure the pay format because as long as they get monster pay checks against easy opposition, there is no incentive to take a chance.
Back in the "hardcore" days, it was more like, you get paid according to moving up in the rankings and facing the better guys. You literally had to face a the top guys to get a huge paycheck when you hit that mega PPV fight.Leave a comment:
