Comments Thread For: Elijah Garcia Blasts Out Amilcar Vidal in Fourth of Action Fight

ONTARIO, California - Elijah Garcia's gamble paid dividends Saturday night. The 19-year-old middleweight prospect dropped and stopped previously undefeated contender Amilcar Vidal in the fourth round of their 10-round fight on the Brandon Figueroa-Mark Magsayo undercard at Toyota Arena. Referee Jack Reiss stopped their opener of a Showtime tripleheader at 2:17 of the fourth round, as soon as Vidal fell to the canvas after Garcia landed a barrage of punches.

wtf is going on with boxing nowadays... What happened to 10 counts? Fighters get hurt and knocked down and come back to win the fights all the time. Lame

Boxing is too corrupt. Nothing is worse than seeing a referee not even attempting to count an opponent that's down, stopping the fight, and then chumming it up afterwards with the winner.

Just upsetting and sad to watch as a fan

I initially thought early stoppage but you could see in replay that he took like 10 unanswered shots. He should have a.) fought back or b.) taken a knee. No foul play here.

Jack Reiss disappointed me once again. Not saying Garcia wasn’t going to spark him but come on. Give the man a count before you wave him off.

There are two referees in boxing that you can always count on to do some dumb ****. Jack Reis is one of them ****ies boy , Laurence Cole is the other.
