  • Comments Thread For: BBBofC Head Hopes Foreign Commissions Do Not Allow Conor Benn To Box Until Innocence Is Proven

The boxing business may be fragmented beyond repair, but Robert Smith gets the sense that the top commissions in the world tend to see eye to eye on the matters that count the most.

Benn obviously can't clear his name in a proper manner regarding the drugs found In his body on two separate occasions and to suggest that VADA who was said by Hearn to be the most respected and safe independent testing body in the world have got this wrong on two separate occasions makes little sense. The WBC have made fools of themselves as even Benn is not happy with what they've tried with the ridiculous eggs story. Greedy Hearn wants his investment back at any price but he should not even consider letting his fighter fight anywhere until Benn as gone before the BBBOC with his case ....it's obvious without the two ridiculous reasons stated here he hasn't got one. Benn threatening to sue the board for £3.5m is just pure ******ity and arrogance .I've never had any respect for Hearn and now unfortunately very little for Benn for who I once thought was a decent kid.
Do the decent thing Benn , try and clear your name and stop hiding behind your expensive lawyers you are only digging a bigger hole.,

I'm genuinely struggling to see how the BBBoC can enforce anything on Benn when he has passed all of their UKAD tests and relinquished his licence due to a BS misconduct charge.

Not only that, but the fact they covered up his VADA test results for months until a couple of days before the Eubank fight just stinks.

Yet they're acting like they are the only party acting with integrity and Benn must prove his innocence to them, rather than they prove his guilt?

"we haven’t received any documentation [from Benn’s representatives]."

So make decision based on the available evidence. If Benn chooses not to cooperate that should be taken I to consideration too.

Benn MUST prove his innocence to them as he had banned drugs in his system twice on separate occasions ...period. .......The only thing he's proved so far is that he doesn't have a valid answer .

He's not getting his license anywhere in the US. He works with the wrong guy.

Of course he will, you might have a good point if there was a global governing body whose rules were enforced by all the various commissions - as it stands, boxing is still in a "Wild west" situation.

There needs to be ONE Commission.
ONE set of rules and restrictions.

Boxing is so behind every other sport.

And yet it’s the oldest. People would laugh at Atlas when he was screaming this almost weekly on Friday Night Fights (which I wish we could go back to). He screamed for a central commission and for Congressional oversight due to the lives that were being wrecked due to corruption and the millions at stake. Teddy was far ahead of his time and that why I loved his passion for the sport
