Comments Thread For: Hearn Says He Wants Conor Benn to Return In June, Possibly Apply for Foreign License

Promoter Eddie Hearn is working to bring troubled Conor Benn back into fighting relevance. In a recent interview, the head of Matchroom Boxing sounded off on the next steps for his sidelined welterweight charge, proposing a scenario in which Benn could fight as soon as June, possibly outside his native United Kingdom.

    Hmmm...

I wonder who they have in mind for him to face off against?

applying for a foreign licence too? probably a delay from the BBBofC to grant him a UK licence for now...

He will be watched more closely from now on that is for sure even with his name being cleared by the WBC and likely more regularly tested given the past..

Not cooperating with the bbboc is a massive red flag & on top of that threatening to sue, claiming egg's now saying that wasn't my idea.
Benn is an entitled to clown & should get a lengthy ban. Eddie to.

Why bother having test's if every fighter that fails, crys & threatens legal action.

Pacquiao Advisor Says Conor Benn Fight Won't Be Considered Until There Is ‘Closure’ On Positive Drug Tests
                February 21, 2023

Gibbons acknowledged that there was tacit interest on Pacquiao’s side to explore a fight with Benn, but with all the uncertainty hanging over the Briton’s head, Gibbons said they would for the time being refrain from pursuing constructive talks.

“Manny is looking to return to the ring for exhibitions and real fights, but the consensus between all parties is that until Conor Benn gets a green light from the WBC or whatever party is overseeing this investigation on the suspension, until he is completely cleared nobody really wants to talk about it,” Gibbons told iD Boxing. “But, yeah, there’s a potential for sure if Conor Benn is clear..."
