Roy Jones was a great fighter, but how exactly is he an excellent trainer? The proof is in the pudding and so far there is no evidence that he is excellent. He hasn't produced the quality or quantity of good fighters that other trainers have.

Compare him to someone like Ismael Salas who has had success coaching styles as varied as Yordenis Ugas and Joe Joyce, yet doesn't even get an honorable mention in some Trainer of the Year lists. That's what I'd consider to be an excellent trainer and Roy isn't the same league.

I don't think he said Jones is a great coach, just not a bad one and not at fault for Eubanks Jr. being who he is.

He's gotten better than expected results out of other fighters, Eubanks is just 33 and didn't develop beyond physically talented.

Bread said Roy is an excellent trainer. I know we all liked Roy the fighter but there's zero proof at this point that he is "excellent" as a coach. He's going to have to show a lot more than he has so far to earn that rating, in my opinion.
