Comments Thread For: Andrade: I've Been Fighting Mandatories All My Life; It Gets Sickening; Let's Get Marquee Names

Demetrius Andrade didn't want to "waste" any more time. The former WBO middleweight champion will turn 35 next month. If the 2008 Olympian is ever going to secure the more meaningful fights he wants, Andrade realized he would have to give up his 160-pound championship, move up to the 168-pound division and align with Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions.

You turned down crucial opportunities when they were presented.

Now you're a 35-year old former titlist who has no fans. Why would anyone fight you? No value in it.

Not to mention there is zero entertainment in his fights.

If he had fought in an entertaining style throughout his career he wouldnt be in this mess in the first place.

Another guy who brings zero to the sport looking for a welfare check.

Regardless what he is saying, he is now on the same platform with Charlo, Benavidez and Plant. No excuse for Haymon not to make these guys fight. They are all into their 30s except for Benadryl.

Andrade just shut up, I notice even hardcore defenders are jumping ship. A career built on soft touches. The weakest resume I can think of belongs to this loser. Always crying, yet it was all self-sabotage. Cry more Andrade.

I just hope that him moving up and to Showtime ignites all the fights between the best. Benavidez and Plant is already happening, and there is still Morrell, Andrade, and possibly Charlo in the mix. This way, Cinnabon can't continue to avoid them because they will fill all of the mandatory slots. But knowing how the sanctioning bodies treat Ginger, he will still be allowed to face any Euro-boxer available.

He signed specifically with Hearn and Dazn to get fights with Canelo, Mungia, Lil g, Saunders etc..., and all of you guys applauded Hearn signing him to a contract. Somehow thinking Hearn one upped Haymon. Yet somehow all of those guys I mentioned avoided him in broad daylight and you guys gave Hearn and all of those "non black fighters" a pass. Talk about double standards.

He ducked janibek and the ducked Parker. He’s got excuses for everything. He got paid a lot to beat up bums fighting on matchroom USA.he chose to do that . He chose to duck 2 perceived difficult fights vs Parker and janibek. Very talented fighter but hasn’t takin one chance his whole career
