Eddie Hearn has taken exception to Lawrence Okolie's attempt to align himself with a new promoter. Okolie, the WBO cruiserweight titlist and Hearn, the head of Matchroom, are currently in a legal battle over his contract. Okolie believes he has fulfilled his obligations with Matchroom, while Matchroom believes Okolie owes them one more fight. Okolie said he had a lucrative offer from another promoter and presented it to Hearn, but Hearn refused to match it.

Matchroom did a very good job with Okolie but he has better prospects elsewhere. Unfortunately Eddie took it personally. It was just business. Boxxer have the better platform and better options for Okolie.

Wait a minute here. Okolie had a lucrative offer from another promoter and presented it to Hearn to match it and he refused to? Isn’t that what the matchroom incels have been criticising hearn’s rival promoters for? I vividly remember a legion of chav incels pouncing ok Jermall for not fighting Andrade on dazn and giving all 9 levels of hell to him for not signing for that. Curiously those same chav incels seem to have gone quiet on championing Andrade..hmmm…I wonder why? And could it be that okolie has shown Hearn does exactly what he himself has criticised the likes of Haymon and Espinoza for? Things that make you go hmmmmmm…..

I'm sure Ben at Boxxer would not touch Lawrence if Hearn WAS indeed right and not just feeling 'disrespected' ....and not in control !...we'll see but my money is on Lawrence and Ben ...with Eddie just being ....spoilt Edward who can't handle any sort of rejection it seems.

Interesting how Okolie mentions Hearn running off to Dazn because they made a big offer when that's exactly what he wants to do himself.

People will obviously be tempted by nice offers but at the end of the day a contract is a contract. We'll see how this plays out.

Well Okolie is either still under contract or he’s not, and the court will sort that. If he is, then he signed it so why would he expect it to change on the last fight? If he isn’t, then it doesn’t matter what Hearn says because he can walk away and take the money offered elsewhere.

It’s that simple.
