  • Comments Thread For: Liam Smith: I Wanted to Fight Eubank at 157 or 158 Pounds

Liam Smith ideally wanted his fight with Chris Eubank Jr. to be contested as close as possible to the junior middleweight limit. But the longtime 154-pound contender from Liverpool found out during negotiations it was never going to be realistic trying to extract that particular concession from Eubank.

Smith will most likely weigh more than Eubank Junior on fight night. It is a known fact that, he weight drains himself massively.

Eubank Junior has never really bought into the methodology of weight draining, from what I can see during his career.

            Good Fight.

Smith says that Eubank would be foolish not to respect him, why? Lol, he's probably going to sleep before he starts sweating.

Liam Smith has never fought at middle weight throughout his long career and knocking on 35 is not going to turn any heads now , it just depends on how bad Jr. really is has to how competitive this 'fight' will be. This fight is around a -c , I can't believe they intend to put it on a PPV platform but some mugs no doubt will fall for it. I had high hopes for Jr. when he started out but what a disappointment.

Thats just wrong. Eubank Jr has always been a natural middleweight. However, mid career he went up to 168 and was fighting naturally bigger guys. And he wasnt seeking out weenies. He signed up for the WBSS tournament. Anytime youre in a tournament in pro boxing, that says something about you being willing to fight whoever. The fact that this tournament was a weight class above his natural weight, says that Eubank at least has some balls. Might be an idiot or a primadonna, but he has balls and doesnt fear any fighters in my opnion

...so fresh off Eubank draining himself down to 156 or whatever, thin as a skeleton and having both Senior and Nigel worried for him, you wanted to swoop in like a vulture and capitalize.

                    Got it
