  • Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson Blasts Isaac Cruz: 'I Turn Pits Into Poodles'

Shakur Stevenson couldn't help but lash out at some of his divisional rivals. In a recent Instagram Live session, the two-division titlist from Newark, New Jersey, blew off some steam in response to his name cropping up in various matchmaking possibilities. Stevenson especially laid into Mexican pressure fighter Isaac Cruz, who goes by the moniker "Pitbull."

Pitbull who is one of my favorites is looki more like Pitduck. Dam shame that he coward out like that. Ortiz or Zepeda will be very tough for the first fight at 135, but skills pays the bills and I expect Stevenson to smoke both

Cruz is famous for losing to a one handed fighter. Not very compelling stuff, Stevenson would expose him easily. Haymon would not let this happen. They gotta do the rematch with Porky before Cruz goes out and gets humiliated.

This is just like when Santa Cruz daddy refused to allow his son to face Rigo. They already know that skilled boxers are kryptonite for that come forward pressure style and don’t want to risk a 1 sided schooling. If they lose, they’d prefer to find an opponent that might at least allow them to be even a little bit competitive.

First, shakur ain’t tank, pit bull would get jabbed to the point his face is deformed. Second, Shakur ain’t gonna fight Cruz in a way he will land much of any power if any at all. Third, Cruz said “NO THANKS” so not sure what good fight or hardest hit you are talking about. I promise you Shakur has sparred with considerably stronger punchers than Isaac cruz, can’t even believe this is a conversation. Comparing cruz to shakur is like comparing a Casio piano to a Steinway piano. Both play music but they are worlddddddddddsssss apart in value, quality, and skills.

That's quite funny, a pitbull into a poodle.

I think if Cruz gets backed up, not sure he can fight going backwards. That's a difficult thing for these aggressive pressure fighters.

It would be nice if Bob sent an actual real offer. Rumor is that Bob is doing the same thing with Stevenson as he did with Crawford were they send low ball offers to opponents with no real intentions of making the fight. And then say the other guy is not interested, I mean Zepeda is saying the offer is 100k, which is ok, but Zepeda just made double that fighting a lesser profile guy in Diaz. So if Stevenson and Bob are Serious, they should actually send a serious offer. What they are doing is low-balling the guys they don't want, so once they turn it down, they can go down the WBC rankings and get the guy they really want, just watch, soon you will here that Stevenson is taking on the 6th or 7th ranked contender in an eliminator. That's what Bob does, he did it to perfection with Crawford, he will continue this strategy for Stevenson.
