Munguia is improving, but yes, he fought another tomato can.

And I say that with no disrespect to Coria, who was courageous to get into that ring, knowing he was probably going to take a beating.

Munguia's record is now almost like Gilberto Ramirez's before he fought a top fighter in Bivol. Over forty fights, all wins but no one of major note.

Im sensing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr version 2 coming. Perhaps the difference being that Munguia trains hard just to get to that level whereas if JCC Jr had trained like Munguia does he might have done something extra.

Jaime Munguia has yet to face any truly elite opposition. His resume is lacking in big names and significant wins. Additionally, he has struggled with making weight in the past, which could limit his ability to compete at the highest levels.
Despite all of these potential obstacles, Munguia remains a very talented fighter with a bright future. It is entirely possible that he could overcome all of these challenges and go on to enjoy a long and successful career. However, it is also possible that he will never reach his full potential and will retire without ever becoming a truly elite champion. He reminds me of Sven Ottke a little bit, who I liked, but in spite of retiring with a spotless record, doesn’t have a great résumé to show for it.
