Comments Thread For: Jack Catterall Not Worried: New Trainer Can't Change Josh Taylor Overnight

Junior welterweight contender Jack Catterall does not believe a new trainer will make Josh Taylor a better fighter. Taylor was trained for much of his career by Shane McGuigan. He would part ways with McGuigan and begin working with Ben Davison.

Im rooting for Catterall but sadly have to agree with you. People have off-nights, not just boxing or sports, but life itself...I think Taylor knows what to expect this time and stops Jack or wins a clear decision.

The Tartan Tornado went a good run, but I don’t think Catterall was as much an off night as that his style is all wrong for Taylor. Catterall shut down his offensive at every turn. Beat him up in the exchanges. Also Josh has been talking about moving up in weight for some time, now. His counter punch style relies on hand and foot speed that when it starts to fail it’s over. This will be anything but a clear Taylor victory. Another hard fought decision, possibly swaying in favor of the man who was robbed the first time. Yes I said it, “robbed”. I don’t use that term lightly.
