Comments Thread For: Joyce Trainer Points to Pressure, Body Shots as Key Against Usyk

The trainer of heavyweight contender Joe Joyce thinks the key to defeating Oleksandr Usyk was revealed in his last fight. Ismael Salas, the respected trainer who has been working with London's Joyce for the past five years, said he was struck

Can't see Joyce landing anywhere near as much to the face as on his previous opponents, but he's game for all 12 rounds.

That one goes to the cards, and I favour Usyk strongly, but it might seriously be the toughest HW fight out there for him.

Because GayJ is not a natural pressure fighter and has a horrid gas tank and footwork unlike Joyce.

Also, he has no faith in his own chin anymore, meaning Usyk's counterpunching garnered too much respect.

        Do you actually watch fights?

Usyk doesn’t want that a juggernaut smoke, he will hide in the depths of a basement in Ukraine to escape him, Fury will also avoid Joe at all costs while seeking to fight francis ngannou or rematch Braun Stroman in a royal rumble while claiming everyone is avoiding him and there all dossers.

I'm not sure he can beat Usyk, but he'd be very competitive, coming forward like a heavy juggernaut.

I'd rather like to see Joyce vs Wilder, now that would be exciting.

Salas is 100% correct. Usyk doesn’t like being hit period. Chisora had him uncomfortable and was landing big shots on him, glowacki dropped him with punches to the chest at crusierweight. Beterbiev dropped him with a body shot in the amateurs. Usyk is severely overated because he beat AJ. This isn’t really a huge win AJ already lost to Andy ruiz and probably would again now that ruiz is in shape.

Forget Usyk talk for now. Beat WIlder first and then fury and then maybe Usyk.

Favor Joyce over every HW not named Fury and Usyk. A motor like few others in recent division history

People say the same thing about Fury yet nobody has beat him.
