Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Plans On Testing The Waters At 160 Pounds

Julian Williams expected a long, fruitful, and dominant reign atop the junior middleweight division following his close but clear unanimous decision victory over Jarrett Hurd on May 11th, 2019. However, while the Philadelphia native envisioned countless years at the crescendo of the sport, his championship run was truncated at the hands of Jeison Rosario in his very next fight.

Have always liked J-Rock. Was gutted when he KO'd by Mall and Rosario but have always admired the determination he displayed the night he left everything in the ring to get that victory over weightbully Hurd. Hopefully he can have a better run at 160,can't see it myself but wish him the best nonetheless.

He didn't have a chin for 154. Not liking his chances at 160.

SC, I agree ! I do like his personality and his fighting style. Even Breadman said that J had lost some of his luster in camp. He needs to find that or he will be Alpo at 60!

Hurd rematch at 160 makes sense. Last chance saloon type fight for both.

Hurd should be jermell first 160 fight. They have to fight in a ring instead of in the crowd.

Williams vs hurd 2 works though

I agree about how superior he looked when he beat Jarrett (the weight bully) Hurd, but his losses by KO at 154, lead me to believe that he'll get decimated at 160.

Yeah that’d make sense. Was that the post fight were Charlo says “I’m good! Is he ok?!” or was that after the Lubin KO?
