I knew this was coming, it's for the best. Josh Taylor is actually talented I can't take that away from him and I think at 147 he could still make for some good fights but he needs an actual trainer. Never heard of McNally personally but at least he boxed and is a southpaw.

Ben Davison shot to fame as the guy who got Fury back from depression and obesity - but now we've got a better idea of Fury's talent and self belief we can ask how much was that down to Davison?
Taylor looked at his best under McGuigan who is a very good trainer. Not sure too much about McNally but in Liam Smith he has squeezed out maximum potential because Liam has gone further than his talent warrants.

My take is that Davidson was great for motivating Fury and helping get him back on his feet but offered little in terms of improving his boxing skills. It's a bit harsh for my liking - after all the dude can't help his limitations and fame kinda fell into his lap - but the 'Boxercise Ben' moniker ain't entirely inappropriate.

yeah, i'd forgotten that moniker - more like a personal trainer than a boxing trainer - was probably what Fury needed at that time but I don't think Josh has ever needed that

McNally is a bit of a weird choice can only think of two people he's worked with in the pros and that's Price and Liam Smith not exactly two guys who inspire confidence in what you'd get out of him as a trainer.

He was mainly known for working in Rotunda ABC but I guess it's one of the more well known amateur clubs...

I can't believe Ben Davison actually overruled Freddie Roach in Tyson Fury's corner.

                How does that even happen?
