  • Comments Thread For: Fernando Martinez Powers Past Jerwin Ancajas For Decision, Retains IBF Title

CARSON, California - Fernando Martinez proved his superiority over Jerwin Ancajas again Saturday night. The rugged, aggressive Argentinean battered the former IBF junior bantamweight champion for much of their immediate rematch. Martinez retained the IBF belt he won from the Filipino southpaw February 26 by winning a 12-round unanimous decision in the opener of a "Showtime Championship Boxing" tripleheader from Dignity Health Sports Park.

He should retire. He is a one-dimensional fighter with a chin. Ancajas is so basic and unmarketable.

Good fighter and a really good person but his defense is abysmal and he gets badly beaten by all those top fighters.

Definitely. Jerwin needs a new and fair manager-trainer.

Ancajas is officially a journeyman now. He milk too much in his belt and avoided best competitions during his prime that could have made his career better.

I expected a closer fight. I guess Ancajas is done as elite contender at 115.

Puma is solid but I don't he beats Rodriguez, Ioka, Estrada or Chocolatito.

I would like to see him vs Julio Cesar Martinez if he fights at 115 against that would be a good clash of styles and a fan friendly fight for sure.

Ancajas looked good in spots but I think the issue was the weight cut. He needs to move up to 118 there can still be some good fights for him.
