Comments Thread For: Shakur Stevenson: There's A lot of Responsibility But I Feel I Can Handle It

By Thomas Gerbasi - Six years ago, the campaign Shakur Stevenson was promoting in his hometown was Powerade's "Just a Kid," and the soon-to-be Olympian was just that, 18 years old and ready to not just take on the world, but to show his peers that dreaming big and making those dreams happen wasn't exclusive to certain neighborhoods in certain cities.

I hope Shakur stays at 130 and unify all the belts. As meaningless as they might be, titles add to the HoF & ATG debates.
Crawford’s unifying of 140 is always mentioned when dissecting his career even though 99% of Crawford’s hardcore fans couldn’t name two of the belt holders he beat at 140.

I would like to see him unify the division completely and then call out Haney or Kambosos or Loma whoever has all the titles at 135 at that point. I'm not sure if 2 undisputed champions have fought and if so I'm not recalling who and when.

Hopefully Shakur wins Saturday, and then Navarette steps up to the challenge! If not, I don't see what Shakur needs at 130. A Unification with Hector Luis Garcia would be a great fight for Newark, but Garcia is with PBC, so we know how that goes! Unless it's Navarette, I think he should be moving to 135!

Um, I feel you are wrong Shakur. You will not be able to handle it. Either you get the fights and dominate. Then hubris is your demise after superstardom. Or a more likely scenario you do not get the fights then boredom and ego eventually get you in trouble.Ill be watching for sure. And they are right, you need to move up. No more sharks at 130 but plenty atr 135 including a few legends. Go see them
