Comments Thread For: WBC Prez: Anthony Joshua Entered The Ratings On His Merits

The World Boxing Council has finally ranked Anthony Joshua in their top ten - which WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman explains was done because the British star is no longer aligned with another sanctioning body.

Eh i mean who cares. To disallow Fury to fight joshua in a voluntary just because Joshua wasn’t ranked with the WBC would have been silly

The WBC are real clowns. They only see how much sanctioning fees they will be collecting in this fight and will adjust or say anything to justify it on their side.

They continue to make it up as they go.

Well, despite his losses, its hard to argue that AJ doesn't remain a Top 10 HW (bottom half anyway). As Sulaiman notes, it was only sanctioning body politics that had AJ off the WBC rankings anyway.

He should be in there. Usyk is at worst world number 3, so Joshua has a case for 4. To suggest he does not deserve to be in top 10 is ludicrous. Cash in - The long-lost cousin of Nash out.

Even though Joshua is having a bad run he is still a top ten fighter and maybe even top five.

seems like the WBC should create a special belt for him. Maybe a horchata belt?
