Canelo has finally waited GGG out. I think it will be a good fight, but I don't give much of chance to GGG (as much as I want him to win) to win or even lead to a controversial loss this time. Not at this stage and that's ok, I hope he'll earn a ton of money and will not have any permanent damage. He had a great career, one of the best MW ever, clearly beat Canelo in their first fight, realistically should have got a draw in the second. And Canelo is hailed as an ATG by many, which, given GGG's level of skill and achievements in the sport, I'd extrapolate on GGG. To me they are more or less on the same level, too bad we'll never know truly who the better fighter is with 8 years difference between them.

No doubt he will hurt ggg to the body, but ggg throws good body shots himself, plus if he were to critique his own performances against canelo; he might have come to the conclusion he didn't throw enough of them.Comment

Easier said than done but GGG will probably need to double and triple up on that jab. Canelo is great at exploiting singular lazy jabs as well as telegraphed rights, he can slip in a lead hook to the body. GGG has power and doesn't necessarily need to load up, probably layering combinations would be more effective. Idk though, he's 40 at this point. Still think it will be competitive, but unlikely that he'll get the nod.Comment

Other than domestic level guys who exactly has Golovkin put down with liver shots?Other than domestic level guys in Fielding and Liam Smith, Canelo hasn't even put someone down with a body shot in 10 years. Canelo's a great body puncher and consistently targets the body, but I still don't get where the idea that he's a devastating body puncher has come from. If anyone has a more killer liver shot, it's Golovkin, who's put down multiple guys over the years with it. Only problem is is that he doesn't throw it nearly enough as he used to. Wouldn't be surprised if Canelo gets tagged with a good one.Comment

Nobody that's exactly "world-class" but he's put more guys down and KO'd more guys with body shots than Canelo throughout their careers. Neither have a body shot KO of an elite fighter (rarely anyone does), but I've always considered Golovkin a more devastating body puncher than Canelo, which is a shame he doesn't focus on body punching like he used to. But I would think that for Canelo being the great body puncher people claim he is (and he is a good one, don't get me wrong), he'd at least be putting people down from them. But before literally every...single...Canelo fight, people predict he'll stop his opponent via body shot, even though his track record should prove that the likelihood of that happening isn't very high.Last edited by AKAcronym; 09-09-2022, 01:51 PM.Comment
