Comments Thread For: Hearn On Fury-Joshua Talks: We Accepted 60/40 Offer, Lots Of Conversations To Be Had

A blockbuster fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is back on track. Or at least back in the headlines. Talks are underway to resurrect what has been long hailed as the biggest fight in British heavyweight history, both sides

Hopefully Fury doesn't demand a date in November! That's way to soon for Joshua!

Sugar Ray Robinson rematched Jake LaMotta 3 weeks after their first fight and had a fight in between lmao. The reasons why big fights take about 6 months is mostly because of promotion logistics. December should be fine, he won't need an early training camp or anything

He isn’t. December 17 is the date. Eddie making the admission he didn’t want Joshua to take this fight speaks volumes. Finally Joshua has taken control of his career. Can only commend him for that.

Eddie needs to grasp the fact that Tyson Fury was an undefeated former unified world champion when Matchroom offered 60/40 , he wasn’t coming off the back of 2 losses.

        “We didn’t ask for 45% , we took 40%”

hahahaa, well done for finally accepting you’re the B Side now. You could never reject this offer and come out with any credibility or respect left in boxing circles.

Much more excited for this than I thought I’d be. Dunno where joshua goes after this one. Eddie also self confessing that Matchroom care about joshua more than t other fighters he has ain’t gone down to well with lads. You’ll see a few leave Eddie in the next couple weeks as a result. Pretty ****** thing to come out with.

This whole thing feels sort of rushed for a fight of this magnitude.

Joshua still needs a confidence booster and a few more fights with Robert Garcia.

Fury and Warren know they're catching Joshua at a good time and are still pressing for a quick turnaround. I mean, come on, guys.

If Hearn truly cared about Joshua, he'd let him rebuild first. At least that way, the fight won't be another one-sided affair.

What's the post fight interview look like if that happens?

Damn, I missed that part! Well Haney is gone! Andrade is gone! Now Usyk is gone! I was hoping Eddie had the same energy for Fulton vs. MJ, that he had for Beterbiev vs. Bivol!!! I haven't even heard him talk about MJ!

The old days are different! Nobody cared about the fighters back then! Robbing fighters was as American as Apple Pie!

You are right in what you are saying, and deep down everyone knows what you are saying is correct.

But? Lets go back in boxing's history. If this offer was thrown at a fighter during the 1970's, 1960s and maybe even the 80's.

Fighters would just have to take the opportunity.

Joshua does not need this opportunity business wise. Joshua is a not desperate fighter 'Whoever he fights next is a big fight'.

But, this is a big opportunity for Glory. That is the debate here for Team Match Room and Joshua.

Not only is it a quick turn around, after a tough fight. He facing another unbeaten fighter, back to back Super Elite fights.

If Joshua takes this fight under those circumstances automatically he deserves credit.

And he will just have to do his best, put in a good effort 'Leave it all in the ring'.

It is quite a situation which has developed, and that is partly due to Fury's tactics 'And his political vision'.

I don't think Joshua has the confidence to be anywhere near best of him but this might also be the only chance to get this fight made. If they are in serious talks.

                    This is actually really exciting.
Joshua, despite losing, really showed his ass vs. Usyk.
He also showed how determined he is to get better.
Most fighters would limp through a rematch.
                    But he improved BIG TIME.
Fury is still Fury so he has to be the favorite.
But Joshua will certainly make it exciting.
