Comments Thread For: Jose Valenzuela: After I Beat Corrales, Hopefully They Can Make Isaac Cruz Fight Happen

Jose Valenzuela has called for a fight against Isaac Cruz for over a year. The 23-year-old lightweight contender can only hope their handlers put that intriguing lightweight fight together if they win their upcoming bouts on the Andy Ruiz Jr.-Luis Ortiz undercard September 4 at ******.com Arena in Los Angeles. Valenzuela is scheduled to face former WBA super featherweight champion Jezzrel Corrales as part of that FOX Sports Pay-Per-View

We're talking pbc here so not holding my breathe. 2nd card theyve shared fighting shot fighters. Rayo,Martin and Cruz will make for some great fights but let's see how long those come to fruition,if ever Jose imo is levels above either, dude will be a problem at 135-140.

El Rayo is fun to watch but he blocks punches with his face, and I don't think he'll be ready for Cruz for a little while. Rayo needs better competition before challenging a genuine top 10 lightweight, and I don't know if challenging an opponent who lost to Colbert (a small 130lber) will help his development.

I'm not sure that 'El Rayo' is ready for 'Pitbull' but I love the fight.

Zero sold on this guy. Nothing impressive. He should be fighting more than he's talking.
