Comments Thread For: Usyk Handler On Promotional Status: 'We Have Got No Other Commitments With Matchroom'

If Oleksandr Usyk ever fights again, he will likely do so under a different promotional aegis. The unified heavyweight champion of the world from Ukraine retained his WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF titles by earning a split decision in his competitive 12-round rematch with Anthony Joshua this past Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

So basically Top Rank and Queensbury hold the cards at heavyweight now and matchroom is being shut out.

Perfect situation, similar to when don king was cut out from the hw division. I guess we'll see great bouts!

Yes, good riddance to Rematchroom Boxing and their useless rematch clauses that bog down the heavyweight division in uncalled for fights!

Matchroom had ample opportunity to make the Undisputed Heavyweight title fight and didn’t. They continued playing the long game and milking the cow dry. I think it’s fitting they won’t make a penny from the Undisputed fight, it’s what they deserve and yet again it’s another reminder to stop the marination bullsh** and make the big fights happen because the landscape can change so quickly.

Who would have thought that in 2022 Frank Warren has the best stable of HW’s.

Crazy how the cards fall sometimes.

If ever there was a time for Canelo cards, it should have been Saturday night. No interest in a pitty-pat lomachenko heavy or super-heavyweight. People are lying if they stay otherwise and are on this Eastern Euro nonsense. Fury could do everyone a big favor. And there is the problem to neutralize him Fury and Hill are going to have to make a skunk-level fight. 4-0-ZERO KOs

Clearly boxing is too complicated for you, WWE might be more to your liking.
