Comments Thread For: Fury Opens As Healthy Betting Favorite Over Usyk In Undisputed Heavyweight Clash

The oddsmakers like Tyson Fury's chances of becoming the first crowned undisputed heavyweight champion in more than twenty years. Speculation has already run rampant of England's Fury (32-0-1, 23KOs) ending his faux retirement to put his WBC and lineal championship at stake against unified WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO titlist Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13KOs). Early betting odds already place Fury as high as a -310 favorite to prevail, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, which lists Ukraine's Usyk as a +195

I can see Fury getting over -450 once this materializes.

After taking Wilder's thermo nuclear right hand, I can say with some confidence, that Usyk can't hurt Fury. There's a difference between sting and hurt, but anyway, that gives Fury options. Fury can twitch and stink him out, or go Kronk on him. He has the jaw for it. Half and half, maybe, like with Wallin. He stunk, until he started to bleed.

This is it, and I think he goes ‘twitch’ unless he wants to get tagged all night and risk losing on the cards.

Usyk will surely not KO him, and probably no-one else in the division, either

The odds should obviously be like this, regardless of predictions to the contrary.

Ofc, everyone believes good and big fury beats small, but also good Usyk. At face value it makes sense.

                2 problems, here:

                (1) Usyk is not a good small man, he is an exceptional man, with superior footwork, balance, and hand speed

                and

                (2) Our favourite conspiracy theorist, Mr. Wilder, has been recently quoted, without elaborating, as saying Fury has been more or less forced into retirement against his preference. Should land on this webpage at some point, unless there are legal reasons for which it cannot.

In other words, fight may never happen

I think Fury is the favorite and should win if you factor in his physical advantages vs a potentially slight pure-boxing-ability deficit. Usyk is a master of movement, angles, timing, etc. but Fury is no slouch in those departments, either. of course the heart aspect of both men is not in question but if it's a pure difference maker, Fury is as proven as it gets. That said, Fury should win a decision but I would not rule out Usyk either because I just can't shake the memory of a guy like Otto Wallin giving Fury almost all that he could handle while being half the fighter Usyk is.

That's not how boxing works dude. There are plenty examples of fighters being put down by lighter punchers and not by big hitters. . If Cunnigham can put Fury down then Uysk can. And Usyk has the stamina to keep hitting him with precision strikes. I would favor Fury maybe 60/40 but Fury also seems to lack the courage to get in the ring in the first place. He was hoping Aj would win that fight...
