Comments Thread For: Usyk Promoter: Tyson Fury Is Next If He Is Mentally, Physically Strong Enough

The promoter of still-reigning unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk believes the ball is now in Tyson Fury's court. Ukraine's Usyk successfully defended his WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF heavyweight titles against London's Anthony Joshua in their ballyhooed rematch Saturday night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, winning a split decision.

Fury is half a foot taller, longer, and 30-50lbs heavier nearly as nimble and just as high a boxing iq, knowing all that fury wins idk how but he wins. IId rather see usyk vs wilder it brings more or a ? Can usyk get back up when wilder lands unless your fury nah. I do give usyk a chance if he cuts fury like otto did but if not nope

Usyk can beat Fury comfortably, let's not forget Fury admitted on multiple occasions even recently Cunningham was his hardest fight -

“The way I explain Cunningham – it was like a Conger Eel all full of oil in front of me.

      “I couldn’t pin him down.

“He was light on his feet, he was weighing 208lbs or something."

"He was a slick, talented boxer and I tried to walk him down using my size and power, but he was just outboxing me.

“What I’m good at – boxing, moving, slipping and sliding – I couldn’t do against Steve Cunningham because he was quicker than me.

“It was like he was a better boxer all round than me.

“I couldn’t do nothing with him, and he knocked me over even though he was a light puncher "supposedly"."

Well let's keep it 100 Cunningham ain't on the level of an Usyk and his feet won't allow this (most importantly) regressed Fury to big man him to victory.

Yes he I'd imagine he can get up if Wilder lands assuming he even gets put down who's Wilder put down who's known for been able to take a solid punch? I'll wait...

It’s about money and glory. A fight with Tyson Fury brings both, a fight with Wilder brings neither.

To fight Wilder is to have all of the risks of losing as one would to Fury but without the money, titles, and glory.

If usyk beats fury, build this man a statue in Kyiv! He will cement his place as a top 5-10 ATG. By far the greatest cruiserweight to ever live.

The character usyk shows repeatedly is beautiful man. God bless you and you’re family Oleksandr!!

This would be difficult for me to watch since I love both but I'd also love this fight to happen.

I'll have to favour fury since he is huge and so much ackward and talented. But I can also see him being kd like in the cunningham fight, since Usyk is so good in letting his hands go. But Fury would get back in 6 seconds and beat him up.

My prevision is a late ko for Fury.

id give Usyk a chance, but Fury with Sugar Hill looks to be a different prospect to the version that fought Cunningham. He’ll also have learnt from that experience (and eventually stopped Cunningham of course).

I’m a big Usyk fan, but he’ll have a mountain to climb against Fury, who is adept at making the most of his physical gifts and fighting tall.

Fury tends to exaggerate his stories and is called a pathological liar frequently, yet you selectively take him at his word now? Convenient.

People act like Fury was getting schooled the entire time until the stoppage, the only one in Cunningham's entire career, by the way.

He was clowning and showboating until he got caught off balance by a fast overhand in round two after winning the first.

The idea that Fury has regressed as a fighter since 2013 is laughable. Would that guy have dominated Wilder and Shyte back-to-back?

He is older, heavier and sits down on his shots more than he used to so he is not as agile and slick as he once was, but compensates with being a far more complete and crafty boxer nowadays.

I would worry about Usyk, he is declining in speed, stamina and had no pop on his punches in the AJ rematch. Man was very clinchable for a fella who is this unhittable ghost as well.

I didn't "selectively" take his word "now"? you cheeky cúnt, He has repeatedly said Cunningham was his hardest for years unlike with other things were he changes his story like the wind chances direction (A lie is pain because you have to be consistent with it in this over years) he doesn't have the mental capacity to keep a lie going for a decade....

Wilder and Whyte both have no skills what so ever to speak of.

They've both got terrible balance they've got one thing to worry about, the straight right and the catch and counter left hook respectively...

As for him being "far more crafty and more complete" yeah right, explain why he's marching forward with a high guard in a straight line and getting put on his ass by Wilder then, the most basic of guys ever...
