Comments Thread For: Brandun Lee Survives Vicious Knockdown, Out-Points Will Madera In Showtime's Opener

HOLLYWOOD, Florida - Brandun Lee nearly found himself on the wrong end of a knockout Saturday night. The hard-hitting junior welterweight had knocked out 22 of his 25 professional foes before he battled Will Madera. It was Madera, though, that dropped the heavily favored Lee with a picture-perfect right hand late in the third round of their 10-round, 143-pound bout at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

I like Lee but he needs a new trainer he's hit a wall and his dad doesn't have the experience

Recovered well and boxed decently. Needs a new trainer, I didn't hear too much solid advice from his dad.

Lee is giving me Sadam Ali vibes man. That knockdown was really bad. It was worse than Ryan Garcia's knockdown against Campbell, and Madera isn't even a huge puncher. I've seen this movie before with Sadam Ali and Mike Jones. This looks like it's over. I hope not though

He's VERY lucky ....he didn't draw a ref with a quick trigger. That's the kind of brutal knockdown that could get you waved off

Say what you want but 9 out of 10 people wouldn't have got up from that knockdown let alone recover and go on to box and win the fight. I don't think Lee can make 140 much longer and I don't see him beating anyone of worth at 147 but he did show heart and the ability to recover.
