Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: I Would Definitely Want To Revisit The Spence Fight At 154 Pounds

Danny Garcia expects Errol Spence Jr. to eventually move up from the welterweight division to junior middleweight. Whenever Spence joins him in the 154-pound weight class, Garcia would welcome a rematch with the unbeaten IBF/WBA/WBC 147-pound champion. Spence decisively defeated Garcia in their 12-round fight for his IBF and WBC belts in December 2020 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but Garcia envisions a tougher fight for Spence if they meet again.

What’s the point? He got thoroughly outboxed by Spence who wasn’t even at his best. I’d rather see him against Tony Harrison or J-Rock.

Nah, was a one sided fight.

But credit to Danny, had a few good wins in his career, and may he flourish at 154 lbs as he continues on.

What would be the excuse if he lost now? He had a long layoff?

Danny had power at 140, which started to fade at 147, and now at 154 he has nothing.

I said the same about cotto but he moved to 160 and was mini Tyson for his run there...

Don't underestimate weight cuts on the body Danny is a big boy in his off season...focusing on getting stronger rather than draining

"I ****** it out with Spence. He got the decision, but I was still able to go in there and scrap for 12 rounds."

Interesting perspective Danny. Must have felt different from how it looked?

Other than provide another good payday, I don't see what Garcia would hope to accomplish in a Spence rematch.

At 154 Spence will be even bigger and stronger and, as someone else has already said, he wasn't even at his best for the Garcia fight

Nah his power is great at 147 too. Power wasn't the issue at 147, it was the ability to land that power.

Once everyone knew about the no look left hook, it didn't take anyone by surprise anymore and they were always prepared to evade it.

Danny needed to add knew wrinkles to his attack so that he can land a different power punch and also disguise his no look hook.

Nobody interested in that. Being at 154 is simply a cash grab. Garcia isn't beating Charlo, Tszyu, Castano or even Lubin. I strongly doubt he even fights any of them.

why? nobody wants to see that. Its time to humbly step away from the game while u are still healthy and wealthy. you couldn't compete at 147 and lost every significant fight at 147. so why move up? Smh, GTFOH and don't be a speedbump in the 154lb division slowing down the fights that really need to happen because everybody body sees the easy money and a name to add to there resume.
