Comments Thread For: Le'Veon Bell To Skip NFL Season, Transition To Boxing Full Time Ahead Of Peterson Bout

Le'Veon Bell is bullish on the prospects of his potential as a pugilist - so much so that the star running back is punting on his NFL career for the following season to instead focus on a crossover into boxing.

If the man’s taking it as seriously as he says, then fair play.

We want people who might love the sport, not chancers

Shame boxing is not getting its American heavyweights anymore due to them being raised in football and basketball. As long as young athletes know they can get a bachelors degree and a guaranteed multi-million dollar contract for several years of work. According to nbc, the average nfl salary is $2.7m. There are players with $90m+ contracts minus endorsements. Hard to compete with that. This is why so many American heavyweights these days are former college football players.

            Okay!

We're in the social media age and as long as people know who you are, you can have eyes on you at all times. I like this for Bell because he's taking the exhibition route and appears to be taking it seriously.

I would LOVE to see Ochocinco in there again, though! Now he's got a background in the sport (so it appears from past gym footage) and seems to also be taking it seriously! Big ups to Bell!
