Comments Thread For: Thammanoon Niyomtrong Outpoints Wanheng Menayothin, Retains WBA Strawweight Title

Thammanoon Niyomtrong extended his stay as boxing's longest reigning active male titleholder at the expense of a longtime friend. The unbeaten WBA 'Super' strawweight titlist turned away the challenge of former WBC claimant Wanheng Menayothin, in a fight nearly two years after the last days of their overlapping title reigns. Niyomtrong--better known as Knockout CP Freshmart--proved to be the fresher and more resourceful of the two in earning a twelve-round unanimous decision in their main event Wednesday evening at Chonburi Provincial Ground in Chonburi, Thailand.

I’ve always believed Knockout CP Freshmart was the best fighter at 105. He’ll beat Pradabsri too.

Niyomtrong is the best fighter at 105. Every fight he's had since his debut has been for a belt from the youth title to the world title and he's undefeated and looked comfortable in the fights he's had. Shame about wanheng that he never got to fight in America and get that payday because that was the plan for him until covid hit and since then he lost his undefeated record and age seems to have caught him

Now we need a unification between Niyomtrong and Pradabsri

Chrismart Wanted to watch this - cheers for the shout, bro - but on a family holiday and couldn’t get a decent signal.

Can anyone say if it’s worth watching on replay?

He was never TBE. NSB just tried to hype him. Then they turned on him after the first loss.

              He's a solid fighter though.

He was absolutely the TBE. You are the very example of how quickly people forget.

This fight literally took longer to make than Mayweather-Pacquiao
