Comments Thread For: Javier Fortuna: Ryan Garcia is Too Focused on Tank Davis Instead of Me

Former world champion Javier "El Abejon" Fortuna (37-3-1, 26 KOs) believes Ryan Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) is way too focused on a future meeting with superstar fighter Gervonta 'Tank' Davis.

I don't know man Fortuna is always hit and miss sometimes he looks good and sometimes he looks average. He has decent power and is awkward but I don't think he has that sleeper power at 135 like he did at 126. If Ryan keeps his range I think he can catch him coming in, but I wouldn't mind seeing an upset Ryan is looking a little drained I don't think he's going to stay at 135 much longer and I guarantee if he loses that will be his reason lol.

I get what fortuna is saying but this is literally how Ryan became popular, by talking as if he is already a 3 weight world champion. It’s how he has been so very relevant with so little accomplishments

Fortuna's best wins were sub-135 plus he has lost every time he has stepped up - the bookies don't lie - plus, plus, - no way Ryan is being matched with anyone GB assess as a genuine risk

Although this should go Ryan’s way , by not focusing on Fortuna he can be in for a big surprise
I hope Fortuna is well prepared cause as someone else stated , sometimes he looks great and other times he just looks like a gatekeeper

I hope Garcia is looking past Javier. A defeat will be a wake up call. War, El Abejon!

Fortuna is a genuine risk. He has been in the Ring top 10 rankings of every weight class he has campaigned in. He can absolutely beat Ryan Garcia on Saturday. I do think Garcia is overlooking him and he is definitely playing with fire here. You might not think highly of Fortuna but you are not the one getting in the ring with him. So, you have nothing worry about. But Garcia better get his sh/t together or he can get upset.
