Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol vs. Gilberto Ramirez is Ordered By The WBA

Dmitry Bivol finally has his marching orders. The leading candidate for 2022 Fighter of the Year has been summoned to next make a mandatory defense of his WBA light heavyweight title against number-one contender Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez. The bout was formally ordered by the WBA on Monday afternoon, with the two sides given until August 10 to come to terms to avoid a purse bid hearing.

Finally. This fight makes way more sense for bivol than butsai.

Beating zurdo after beating canelo would make bivol the Mexican killer

Good fight. If Bivol wins he will be ugggge. If Ramirez wins not so much. The judges will be with Bivol because he’s with eddie hearn and they hate oscar. If Ramirez wins, he should fight Beterbiev. Gilberto needs to say he doesn’t fight Mexicans if he wins and than he should fight Benavidez

Nice! Zurdo been running his mouth I hope GBP don't mess this up with some weird demands, both fight on DAZN so this shouldn't even have to go to Bid for them to make a deal

Eddie was trying to hurry up and make Bivol vs Buatsi but Ramirez is the Mandatory WBA #1 NOT Buatsi

Make Joshua Buatsi vs Callum Smith for Interim or something and a guaranteed shot at the winner Next

Zurdo has looked strong at 175 and Zurdo is a huge 175 so I think this is a very underrated matchup

I have a feeling Bivol will avoid this fight, I do believe Bivol is a better boxer but in boxing, styles makes fights and Ramirez style and size is all wrong for Bivol. Call me crazy, but if this fight gets made, would not surprise me if Ramirez stops Bivol late.
